Shada Nasser, Ali's lawyer, was born in 1964 and is a feminist and human rights specialist whose involvement in Ali's case received widespread praise.Ali has also co-written a book, I Am Nujood, Age 10 and Divorced, with French journalist Delphine Minoui.

Nujood Ali was nine years old when her parents arranged for her to marry Faez Ali Thamer, a man in his thirties. Ali escaped on April 2, 2008, two months after her wedding, after being beaten by her in-laws and raped by her husband. She went to court alone, on the advice of her father's second wife, to seek a divorce. After half a day, she was noticed by a judge, Mohammed al-Gadha, who took it upon himself to provide her with temporary refuge and had both her father and husband arrested.

Shada Nasser agreed to represent Ali for free. For the lawyer, it was the continuation of a struggle that began in the 1990s when she opened the first Yemeni law office led by a woman in Sana'a. She grew her clientele by providing services to female inmates.

Yemeni law did not specify a minimum age for marriage at the time, and families stipulated in the marriage contract that sex with these young brides was prohibited until they were deemed "ready." Nasser argued in court that Ali's marriage was illegal because her husband raped her. [4] Ali turned down the judge's suggestion that she resume living with her husband after a three to five-year break. In April,In 2008, the court granted her divorce (and 250 dollars of compensation to her now former husband which he had given at the time of marriage for breaking the contract).

The Archer | Paulo Coelho | Book Review

"The Archer" by Paulo Coelho is a deceptively simple book that uses the metaphor of archery to explore profound themes about life, purpose, and self-discovery. The narrative revolves around Tetsuya, a once-celebrated archer who has retreated from the public eye and now lives as a humble carpenter. One day, a young boy approaches him, eager to learn the art of archery. Through a series of lessons and conversations, Tetsuya imparts not just technical skills but also valuable life lessons, such as focus, discipline, the importance of intention, and the acceptance of failure as a stepping stone to growth. Coelho's signature style shines through in "The Archer," with his prose being simple yet evocative, weaving together poetic language and philosophical insights seamlessly. The story unfolds through a series of short chapters, each focusing on a specific aspect of archery and its corresponding life lesson. This episodic structure allows readers to easily absorb the...
